Antigua & Location

Cocobay is located on 10 hillside acres overlooking beautiful Ffryes Bay on the western coast of Antigua. The Resort is approximately 25 minutes from the capital city of St. John’s and 45 minutes from V C Bird International Airport.

Cocobay is positioned in a virtual beach haven on the quieter, less commercialized section of the Island. In close proximity to the resort are a series of some of the most pristine beaches in Antigua. These include Little Ffreyes Beach, Big Ffreyes Beach, Valley Church Beach, Jolly Beach, Darkwood Beach and Turners Beach.

We strongly recommend that each guest travels with a valid passport as you may be required to present it upon check-in at the resort. Please see the below link for a guide regarding passport/visa requirements.

If you plan on renting a car, finding your way to the hotel is easy. True, there are not so many road signs, but then again, there are fewer roads!

Antigua has 365 beaches, just about one for every day of the year. Most are located in the calm, protected waters of the island’s Caribbean side. All beaches are open to the public. Therefore the challenge to our guests is not how to gain access to the best of them but simply how to locate the beach that suits your personal taste.

In consideration of recent concerns following the Covid-19 crisis and recommendations by the WHO, PAHO and CDC, the team at Cocobay has implemented advanced cleanliness and sanitation policies, rigid health and wellness guidelines and our own unique spin on in-resort social spacing. The official currency is the EC$, Eastern Caribbean, but the US$ is widely accepted. An ATM machine is located at the airport additionally; there is a bank and ATM five minutes away from the resort by taxi.

Resort Rooms

Room or category upgrades can be purchased based on availability.

Private balcony with Adirondack chairs and hammock, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini fridge, safe, shower, hair dryer, coffee/tea maker, iron & ironing board (on request), 1 King size bed with high thread count 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and complimentary internet service. Yes, safety deposit boxes are provided in all cottages. For the safekeeping of valuables, a safe is provided in the room. The hotel company will not be liable for loss of money, jewelry and other valuables not protected in this manner. A charge is incurred if the safe key is lost or damaged.

Yes, laundry bags are provided upon request. There is an additional charge to utilize this service.

This issue is troubling to portions of the island and of course to our island visitors. However, it is localized in the north and east of the island and has not yet posed a problem at the resort.

Restaurants & Bars

There are two fine dining restaurants and multiple dining locations on the property. The main restaurant Rafters is a part of the All-Inclusive package. Sheer Rocks is a romantic, relaxed and stylish hangout, independently owned and not included in the published hotel rates. The Sandy Ground Sunset Terrace and Cocoa Coffee Cafe are both a part of the All Inclusive, but offer a more bits, bites and themed events throughout the week.

*DINNER MENU SUPPLEMENTS: in addition to the standard All Inclusive menus, premium items (Lobster, Shrimp and Beef) are available nightly at an additional charge.

The Resort will do it’s best to accommodate guests with special dietary needs/restrictions however our food and beverage outlets utilize ingredients which may include (but not limited to) peanuts, tree nuts, seeds, shellfish, shrimp, seafood, soy, milk, wheat, and other potential allergens which may come into contact with other foods. Guests with food allergies or dietary restrictions should take precaution.

Men: Tailored shorts and smart casual resort wear.
Women: Elegantly Casual. No sportswear please.

Rafters Restaurant – Breakfast runs from 7:30AM to 10:00AM, Lunch from 12:30-2:30 and Dinner begins at 6:30Pm with seating every half hour until 9:00PM (Reservations are required for dinner ONLY).

Additional Offerings – Paninis from 10:30AM – 5:30PM (Beach Bar/Sunset Pool Area) & Bar Bites (Courtyard Bar and Lounge) at 3:30PM -6:00PM

The bars (The Main Bar and The Sunset Bar) – Open at 10:00AM, the Sunset bar closes at 6:30PM while the Main Bar remains open until 11:00PM.

Offerings

Presently, flight packages are not offered with your resort booking.

We are an all inclusive resort, this includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon bar bites, pool-side refreshments and dinner daily along with poured drinks by the bars (2 all inclusive bars), non-motorized water-sports (kayaks, snorkeling gear, stand-up paddle-board), nature walks, yoga, gym and fitness sessions. Sales taxes are included however, Tourism Guest Levies and other Government head taxes are not included.

The Resort

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 12:00 noon. Subject to availability, early check-in or late check-out may be available for an additional fee payable locally at the Resort.

We are an adults ONLY resort; catering to persons 18 years are and older.

Due to the unique nature of the property, Cocobay Resort may not be suitable for Guests with certain disabilities and mobility issues. Steps lead to all pools, restaurant and bars and the beach.

The resort provides a courtesy room option based on availability. Please check with our Front of House Ambassadors on the morning of your departure to reconfirm. Courtesy rooms can be reserved for half hour allotments – towels and other shower amenities are provided.

The resort provides 24 hour security service.

Yes, if you’re looking for that perfect gift for family or friends; Shop for souvenirs, mementos, gifts, snacks, sun screen etc. The gift shop located is centrally on the resort property. Check with the Reception Desk for current hours during your stay.

The electrical output on property is 110 volts. American styled 3-prong plugs are used.

Entertainment is offered six (6) times per week. This includes live bands, jazz keyboardist, a steel-pan band and saxophonist.

As with any tropical island, there are mosquitoes and other biting insects and Antigua is no different. There is no best month to avoid them, however we’ve taken all precautionary measures to ensure your comfort. All rooms at Cocobay Resort are equipped with mosquito screens and nets. Fogging is conducted on the resort premises 4 times per week to ensure maximum vector control. Insect repellent is available at the gift shop on property. Should you have a preferred brand of repellent, feel free to travel with such.

Yes you can reward the outstanding service of our staff at your discretion.

Facilities & Tours

There is free parking available for Resort guests.

Hotel taxis are available daily on site. Arrange with the Front Desk ahead of time.

Yes, our knowledgeable Front of House Ambassadors will happily assist you with scheduling your excursions and trips during your stay.

Non-motorized water-sports activities are available and included in the cost of your stay. These include, kayaks, snorkeling (equipment provided) and stand-up paddle-boards.
